The Parsimony Profile page list a minimal set of proteins which can define the the sample assayed. The filter behaves the same way as in the Protein Profile page. The columns are also the same with the exception of:

Parsimony - The type of grouping which defins how the peptides map to the protein or proteins.

  • Distinct - this protein was identified exclusively by peptides which map uniquely to this protein. This isoform is present.
  • Differentiable - this protein was identified by at least one peptide which maps uniquely to this protein. This isofom is present.
  • Equivalent - this set of proteins was identified by the same set of peptides. We cannot determine if only one or all of the isoforms are present.
  • Set - this set of proteins was identified by a set of peptides which map to at least one isoform in the set. We cannot determine if only one or all of the isoforms are present.

In the case of equivalent and set proteins, we sort the proteins by the decreasing expectation value.

Set Count - the number of proteins in the equivalent set or set. Click on this value to view a list of proteins belonging to the set.
